I have always been directed to not include ineffective areas inside the floodway in RAS models. I am questioning when you model a structure, and want to use ineffective areas to show expansion and contraction, how that works with comparing a with and without floodway wsel. Any thoughts?
I believe the floodway will contract and expand at the bridge at the same rate as the ineffective flow area limits. I.e, the floodway should follow the ineffective flow boundaries on both sides of the bridge.
