    Hi everyone,

We are importing survey data to HEC-RAS from Civil 3D (using Steltman’s civil essentials software). The alignment that is set up in CAD is not what shows up in HEC-RAS. Specifically, there are a few cross-sections in HEC-RAS that appear to be ‘missed’ by the HEC-RAS ‘alignment’ (I’m attaching a PDF of an example of a discrepancy between the CAD and HEC-RAS; the corresponding CAD and HEC-RAS cross-sections are circled). The reach lengths imported from CAD appear to be correct (that is, the ‘missed’ cross-section is accounted for).

My instinct is that the issue is due to something happening on the CAD side, but I would like to know if you think it may be something that can be resolved in HEC-RAS. I did a test simulation and there is a water surface elevation generated for the cross-section 2004.7 in question.

    Thank you,

Maybe it is the problem because you are using arcs. Try transforming the centerline and draw it with segments and NOT using arcs.
