For calibration of a model ,we have to plot obseved data vs model simulated data in an excel worshit for a fixed time range.I am very much curious that if any option exist in HEC-RAS to give the obsedved or field data as input and make direct comparison,so that we don’t have to do this in an excel worksheet. If any, please share the process. It’s to be a great help.Thanks.

In the Flow Editor|Options pull down menu there is an option to add observed data as either high water marks, gage rating curves, or hydrograph. You then can turn on observation marks in the profile plot as a variable.

    Dear Cameron,
Thanks for your suggestion.but i have a question. What will be the format of
the obseved data value?is it possible to make a xcel data sheet make
compatible witjh hec ras data input system.

    Sincerely yours,
    Samiul

    Hi,

I am devoting dam break model.
I want to ask the calibration options in unstedy flow [dam break routing]?

I think, that a Rating Curve we can’t use, because it is very complicated or impossible to calculate for cross section, where is a built-up area, … .
We can’t use also High Water Mark, because dam break is potential case, we have any historical records.

    thank you very much
    Greetings!
