Hello,
I am working on a floodplain modeling project for my University, where we have gone in the field and taken stream and river cross sections using Emlid RTK surveying equipment. This data is to be used to update stream and river bathymetry collected by LiDAR. I have the survey data available in GIS and as a .csv. I’m aware that there is an import data from .csv function, but I have had issues with getting the import correct. Can anyone provide more information regarding the format it would need to be in to import from .csv, or if there is a more effective way of getting the survey data into HEC-RAS.Thanks,

so if these data points are somewhat random or do not fall exactly on cross-sections that you intend to model, then you have to interpolate them onto your desired cross-section location.
An alternative (if appropriate depending on data coverage and other factors) would be to convert the data to a raster and import it as terrain using RAS Mapper, then you can just draw your cross-sections and cut the profiles from the terrain.

My name is Neeraj. I am new to river modeling. I have UTM coordinates of the x-sections (elevation is depth). I don’t know the datum but I suppose it’s zero from some benchmark.
Can you please explain your method of finding RS and Station in detail? I am attaching my data for your convenience. It would be great if you could show your method in the attached excel file. Thank you very much for your help.
