How to extend rating curves using HEC-RAS

Hi All,

I would like to know if HEC-RAS can be used to extend a rating curve at a gauging station ? Most of the gauging stations I manage have rating tables where actual gaugings only cover say less than 50% of the range of the flows experienced at the gauging station.
If it’s possible to extend ratings using HEC-RAS what are the steps required and how much raw info, such as X-sections and flood slope, is needed.

There is a paper by Kari Svelle Reistad, Asgeir Petersen-Øverleir and Leif Johnny Bogetveit
on Setting up rating curves using HEC-RAS.

I believe the paper can help you a great deal.
