I have received a He-RAS project. Unfortunately the geometry file is not georeferenced (It does n’t have any projection). whenever I try to export it i get this error : Source projection is invalid coordinate will not be re projected.
I tried to export the geometry to sdf and import it in Hec georas but I get another error : source project is invalid coordinates will not be re projected.

How can I assign projection to my ras geo file?

You would need to have data to georeference it to. This means you may have to digitize lines in GIS and then import them into the HEC-RAS model. If you have the x and y coordinates then you could just enter them in a table.

    Hi Cameron,

    Thank’s for your response.

yes you are right. the Xs cut table is empty and in the (NODATA!!!) sign is in front of cross section name in this window.

as what you said, I have digitized the geometry in ArcGIS and want to import it to Hecras.

What is the best way to do that? I have found I can not import the shop file to the HECRAS, I need to convert it to *.sdf or *geo. I think the only way which I can do it is digitizing the network in Georas and then export it to one of these formats .

Do you know how can I import shapefile ito HECRAS without using the Georas?

    Cheers,

    Ali
