I completed a steady flow model on a tributary and its floodplain (to look at potential off-channel salmon habitats at 3 varied flows). I imported the model back into GIS, began the inundation mapping, and completed the water surface generation TIN. Then trying to do the floodplain delineation using the same model grid I inputted to start the GeoRAS data prep, I get an error message: Error 010316: unable to open input raster and then Error: 010067: Error in executing grid expression.

These numbers offer no clarity from ArcGIS help. My raster GRID appears to be fine. Its not in a geodatabase, but is a standalone DEM raster. 2m sq pixels from a 2006 lidar data set. Any clues about the problem? Do I have to change the raster grid into a TIN so GeoRAS can turn it back into a raster (this seems odd)? Should I aggregate the input raster to 20m sq pixels similar to the pixel size it normally outputs when GeoRAS converts from TINs to rasters? Other suggested work-arounds? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Chris

I have exactly the same problem for two or 3 weeks. Did you find the solution? I appreciate your response.

    Thanks

    Soroush,

Have you tried using RAS Mapper to generate your inundation maps? It’s much more stable and user friendly than the cumbersome export to GeoRAS. You can even export grids to a stand-along raster, which you can open and view in GIS if needed.

Thanks Vince for your comment. I have not tried it, because I need to see flooding maps in ArcGIS; and I though transferring from Ras mapper to GIS would be another scenario.

If it is not a hard issue, maybe I should start that.

    Thanks
