    Hello everybody,

I would like to import output files (.O0X) from HEC-RAS to python or C++. The manual just state that it can only be read from the GUI, which is really not a practical solution for me. I am aware of the PyRAS project, but I would need to run the script on Linux because I need to put it on a server at some point. In addition, I would prefer to not use the HEC-RAS controller because it is not very practical to share with colleagues, who do not have HEC-RAS installed.

    So:

    a) Has somebody already tried this?
    b) Does somebody know the form of the binary file? Even partial info about it?
    c) Do you have an other option to do that? Don’t hesitate to send ideas or suggestions. Requirements: No need for HEC-RAS installed, something you can easily send to others by email, and use automatically. I would need to import velocity and water height data in steady and unsteady simulations.

Thanks a lot for you help! Best regards.
