I am having trouble in RAS 5.0.3 shifting cross section locations for georeferencing them to a new location. I have used this frequently in RAS 4.1 for a number of years, but it does not seem to be working in 5.0.3.
I have a georeferenced HEC-RAS model for existing conditions. I want to shift a cross section location to display in a different location for proposed conditions. I will eventually edit the cross section ID, Station/Elevation pairs and channel and overbank lengths to represent the proposed cross section. I remove the coordinates in the XS Cut Line Table. The cross section turns from green to brown showing that it is no longer georeferenced. I do not get the message in the lower left corner of the geometry file that cross sections are not georeferenced. I then click on the cross section and select Move Cut Line Upstream/Downstream and click on the new location on the stream centerline. The cross section does not move and turns green. There is only a single set of XY coordinates in the XS Cut Line Table.
I have also had this problem in 5.0.3 when georeferencing a HEC-2 model that I imported.
I also have the problem when I copy a cross section and I want to move the copied cross section to the proper location. Remove the coordinates and try the Move Upstream/Downstream and it does not move.
The model has a RAS Mapper file created for it. This does not work even if I delete the HDF file associated with the geometry file. I have tried deleting the HDF associated with the plan. I have tried removing all of the HDF files associated with the model and removing the layers in RAS Mapper. The Move Cut Line Upstream/Downstream does not work.

1. Edit > Move points – then move the start and end points of the cutline to your desired location (if there are lots of points it can be easier to delete them apart from the start and end points e.g. in the GIS Tools/XS Cutlines Table)
2. GIS Tools > XS Cutlines Table – paste in the new XY coordinates (you can get from the Measure Line tool]
Good luck!

LDGuethle, Did not know you were still using HEC-RAS after leaving AECOM. Hope things are going well for you. Hope the flooding in Houston did not cause you any problems.

you can download a simple App to move the cut lines because the RAS 5.0.3 only move the axis.
In the excel you have to define the X and Y desplacement.
Clicking on RUN button the App will open a shell to select the RAS project and the geometry you want to modify.Good luck
