    Hello,

I am a new HECRAS user and have mostly been using the software to map Inundation/Flood boundaries around rivers. I am exporting all river geometry and DEM surfaces from Civil 3D and have been following steps and tutorials about how to do this. I am following all the same steps in these tutorials but have been experiencing some weird issues that I cannot figure out why they’re happening.

The main issue I am having is when adding the inundation boundary to my map (in the RAS Mapper). In each project I have done, there always seems to be various gaps in the boundary along centerlines of the river which do not seem to accurately reflect what should be happening. This requires me to manually edit the inundation boundary after exporting it as a .shp file to Civil 3D.

This issue would be better explained using a photo but any insights or advice on how to avoid these gaps is appreciated.

    Thank you.
