Floodway Delineation Outside Floodplain

Hi,

I am re delineating the 100-year floodplain and floodway for a creek. The flows are completely channelized, and the encroachment stations are placed at the banks since the surcharge doesnt reach 1-foot at any cross section. When I go to RAS mapper to export the inundation shapefiles to CAD it shows multiple areas where the floodway is OUTSIDE the floodplain, which makes no sense. The 3D cross section viewer does not show this, but RAS mapper does. I manually changed some of the floodway limits when I got it into CAD, but is there an explanation as to why this happened other than not enough cross sections?

Can you share a picture of what you are talking about? Is this only occurring between cross-sections and not at cross-sections? What do your bank lines look like in Mapper?
