Floodway analysis using HEC-RAD 2D for FEMA Project

HEC-RAS Models,

I would like to use HEC-RAD 2D for a floodplain analysis which will include eventually a CLOMR to be submitted to FEMA.

Any share experience on floodway analysis: equal convenience reduction requirement and a maximum allowable surcharge limit 1 foot for example.

you currently cannot do a floodway in 2D. What you can do is create a 1D model that is calibrated to the 2D and create the floodway in the calibrated model. I have also done 1D/2D models where the floodway is only in the 1D section.

The reason why I am contemplating the 2D is because I have culverts, underground culverts (below buildings and parking areas), parallel railroad bridges, and split flows, which make a 1D model difficult.
