I tried to import the 1D model to the 2D and have run the model successfully. But when i see the flood extent map I observe that the flood extent is not shown for the selected 2D storage area.
when i delete my 2D storage area selection i can see the full flood extent
    I have few doubts
    1. the 2D has taken the river network and cross section from ID, so what would be the grid size considered for flood flow
    2. is this still a viable way of performing Flood extent mapping?

Please find the image of my flood mapping result

flood extent not shown in 2D storage area

It would be of great help if someone could help me in this issue

how is the 1D model connected to the 2D model?

    Dear Cameron
I have imported the geometry from 1D , so the river , Cross section and the inflow tables were taken from the 1D model itself

You need to connect the 1D model with lateral structures to the 2D model.

we ran a steady flow for the project. so i guess lateral structure need not be connected in that case

Like what cameron said, you need to connect the 1D river network with the 2D cells by using lateral structure. Its a way to let HEC-RAS know that the flow can be transferred over to the 2D grid.

OK i shall try to connect the lateral structures
