Another basic question… If I want to extract from the results (via Ras-Map) of a pure 2d Model, e.g. the WSE over the terrain along a river cross section, can I draw a simple profile line like a 1D cross section, and than plot the max WSE over this profile line?
Thanks! Now I have, if I may, some further questions… The WSE is computed for every cell faces, and so what ras-map does is to interpolate these results, I supposed on the distance weight, in order to produce a WSE (or depth) map. Is it correct?
Furthermore, why if I export the map as a raster I can’t export the exact map I see in ras mapper, but just a raster with a really worst resolution?
From a visual standpoint, you have the option on how you want to chose how water visually displays across cell transitions. Its under the options in RAS mapper where you can chose, for example “sloping” or exclude showing depths less than a certain value.
As far as how RAS shows a value of depth or WSEL across a varying range of cells, that is something that is best read in the 2D users manual. Just to a search and find for the topic. Quick read but important to understand.
Thank you very much, it was helpfull! Now I understand that the visualization mode (sloping, horizontal…) will also affect the result of the WSE extracted over a line…
