I want to export cross sections from AutoCAD to HEC-RAS. What I’ve done before for a fairly straight stream is define the stream alignment as a profile and cut cross sections across it with a certain interval (every 20′, for example). The cross sections show up in HEC-RAS as straight lines, and I’m OK with that.

But now I have a stream with some meanders and I know that the cross sections should be cut perpendicular at the flowline and then dogleg to be perpendicular to the floodplain as well. My question is, how to get the cross sections to dogleg? Do I somehow define them in AutoCAD before I export them to HEC-RAS? or is there a feature in HEC-RAS that lets me dogleg a part of a straight cross section?

If this is done through AutoCAD, please let me know how it’s done. I’m using AutoCAD Civil 3D Land Desktop Companion 2009.
