Hi, I’m wondering if there is something to set in a pure 2D model, like the expansion and contraction coefficients in the 1D cross section editor, in order model the expansion or the contraction losses.
Is a good refinement in the mesh enough to capture these losses?
What I mean, is this kind of computation already into the 2D computational process?

Open up the 2D manual and search on ‘eddy’.

The turbulence coefficient will change the amount of losses for sudden contractions and expansions.

By default this is off. Small cells are usually sufficient but using eddy coeficients might give better answers for sudden expansions
