I am attempting to create a Terrain for 2D analysis in RAS Mapper from a ESRI grid. I get the following error:

“Error creating Terrain: Start row is beyond extent of dataset: /Terrain/Terrain.grid20ft/0/Mask”

At first I thought I could ignore this error, because RAS Mapper still generated the terrain, but this same error crops up when I attempt to run the model. I have attempted to clip the data in ArcMAP to a smaller size, and reimported the data several times.

    Any suggestions?

    I’ve solved my own issue.

The grid file had several files associated with it. By importing only a single file I was able to generate an acceptable terrain model.

I am still not 100% clear on what is occurring, or what data is beyond the extent of the dataset, but I was able to run a 2D model successfully.
