When I try to run an unsteady flow simulation in a 2D model, I am getting an error message after the goemetric preprocessor finishes. I tried searching for this specific error message but I couldn’t find anything. I also double checked for language and date settings, everything is set correctly.

Has anyone encountered this erro message in the past ?

go and delete the hdf file it is trying to create and then run it again.

You could also try upgrading to 5.0.3

I tried both 5.03 ans 5.01 and I get the exact same error. I also tried to delete HDF files, closing and re-opening HEC-RAS but I get the same error message.

I also tried to import the geometry file into a “clean” .prj file to make sure no intermediate files were in the way but I get the same error.

    Still no luck…

    *UPDATE: RESOLVED*

The issue was that a breakline in my model had a blank name, causing the simulation to stop right after the geometric preprocessor.

Deleting and redrawing said breakline solved the issue.
