I have initially run an unsteady flow simulation using HECRAS Beta 5.0 and it went without errors. For my second run, I have tried deleting the levees on some of the cross-sections and upon running, I received the following error message:

forrtl: severe (157): Program Exception – access violation

    RASGeomPreprocess 00007FF729F2BFA8 Unknown Unknown Unknown

This is about as cryptic and frustrating an error message as you’ll get. I think there are a handful or reasons it might happen, and others might have some ideas as to what might help. The first thing I would do in your position would be to delete the geometry hdf file (via windows explorer) associated with this plan, and rerun everything. Sometimes the hdf file gets corrupted and creating a new one can help.

I have done what you have suggested and it seems to work fine and no more errors appear in my simulation. Thank you sir!
