Hi, I’m a newbie for what regards HecRas and I’m still learning but I’ve a problem: everytime I try to open a project saved before, I get the following message:” Error in loading Geometry Data” so I have to remake the project from the ground. Can anyone help me?
I’ve tried with different version of HecRas (6.1 and 5.7) but still the same.

I don’t know if this will help or not, but you can try to check the path to the project so that it contains only the letters of the English alphabet, and also in the project itself everything was written in the same letters

Happens to me frequently. The reason is, if you made some problematic cross section, or tried to draw a bridge, in a wrong way so it corrupts the geometry and doesn’t save ( at RASMAPER). Try to delete if you can the bridges for start to see if this is the main problem. Next time you redo the project, try to “save as” to a backup folder and then open again the default file of geometry you edit.

    Hello,
I tried this method (delete the file ending in .g##):
    https://www.hec.usace.army.mil/confluence/rasdocs/raski/latest/non-english-language-settings
    But the problem come back.
For me, there is a déc for december in French which come back.
    The workaround is for me:
    1-Delete the .g## file
2-Change windows langage to English: windows parameters/time&langage/Langage/Add langage/English(United States)
Switch to english when working with HEC-RAS

I wish to thanks everybody who’ve replied to my answer. I’ve found the solution by changing the settings on my PC switching the decimal separator from “,” to “.” as is used in the US states.
