    Hei.

I have run a 2D simulation of urban flooding with a mesh of 2m*2m, and a flow hydrograph as upstream boundary.

However, I keep encountering “dry cells” in the middle of a wet area.

Does anyone know what the error could be? I have tried to decrease the cell size.

If you turn on particle tracing it may give you a better idea, but that is very odd. Is this in version 6.0?

The only explanation I can think of is look at your final manning’s value layer that RAS auto creates in RAS Mapper…expand your geometry and itll be under there. But even with this, it almost seems like a bug.

Do the cells ever get wet?

    Thank you for your suggestion.

It is in HEC-RAS 5.0.7, the cells are wet in the beginning, but during the simulation, they “turn” dry.

The particle tracing “goes through” the empty cell. I have numerous of these empty cells,
