In 2d models, when i display the depth result, the water starts from the upstream BC of my 2d flow area but the simulation period ends befor reaching the downstream boundary of the 2d flow area. How the time simulation should be fixed to reach a realistic representation

your simulation time is too short. You’re not giving HECRAS enough time to route the flow through the terrain. Extend the simulation time until the flow reaches the outlet and empties.

    Thank you for your reply.

I modified the simulation time, now the flow reaches the downstream boundary condition. On the other hand I don’t understand why when the flow reaches the downstream boundary condition the flow disappears ( or empties as you said).
My objective is to export from hec-rass the simulated discarge near the downstream boundary condition. But at this moment, when I draw a profile at this point to export the calculated flow, there are several periods where the flow is 0 because at these periods there is no flow around the lower limit.

    Thank you for your help

If this is not working for you, you can try this.

I would draw a dummy weir that is the exact same height as the terrain just upstream of your DS boundary condition. Assign the weir coefficient a 0.2 value. Run the model and then review the results at the weir. This should give you a hydrograph to take from
