    Hello

I am modeling a canal system on HEC RAS using the unsteady module of HEC RAS coupled with RULE BASED boundary conditions. I am able to control the gate openings of inline and lateral structures as a function of time using RULES as a turn wise water distribution is implemented among the farmers.

The problem i am facing is that a few of the lateral structures when withdraw their share from the main channel, the downstream discharge in the main channel is arithmetically wrong some times. For example, a lateral structure has a capacity 50 cusecs and main channel has 1000 cusecs, so after withdrawing 50, the remaining in the main channel should be 950 cusecs but the model is giving 930 (as an example).

It fumbles on certain structures and i have checked their configuration, they seem okay. I need correct numbers because i am incorporating lateral discharges in my rules to take certain decisions.

I even have noticed this behavior on my steady model. Any suggestions why those DS discharges are arithmetically incorrect?

    Regards
    Nayyar
