I am new to HEC-RAS and currently working on a project to model a causeway that starts in a tributary and enters a larger stream. The causeway then travels upstream to an island in the larger river. In order to model the culverts needed I believe I need to reference cross sections in multiple reaches. Is there any possible way to do this or am I better off modeling the causeway separately for tributary and larger stream somehow?

If you are doing this in 1D, you might want to consider 2D if you have terrain and the time. Although this would be trickier for a new RAS user.

Without knowing more about your particular problem, it is hard to say too much. If your culverts start in one reach and end in a different reach, you may be able to do that using a lateral structure.

It might also be possible to model your culverts as a normal cross section with a lid using the Preissmann slot option.
