    Hello,

I am relatively new to HEC-RAS, I am using HEC-RAS to create 1D and 2D models for my research for my thesis. I am running into some issues with my 1D model. The computations seem to run ok, but the results in the RASMap do not look right. There are extreme jumps between cross sections. I am sure part of this is attributed to treating the banks as levees. How can I reduce these extreme jumps?
The other major issue is at a steep drop in the channel. There is an irrigation diversion that I have modeled as an inline structure. No water flows past the corresponding cross section even.
My end goal is a presentable, and realistic flood map, what steps do I need to take to make my model work? Thank you all for your willingness to respond and help future engineers like myself, with your experience.
