    Hello,
I use Hec-Ras 4.1.0 for a project about sediment. I work with SI units. I get results for sediment. It is possible to choose mass or volume in Options (sediment output options) of the sediment Transport analysis.
    Nevertheless, I don’t understand how Hec-Ras converts volume capacity (I have 1.607093.10^(-3) m^3/day) into mass capacity (I have a mass capacity of 0.2056153 tons/day).
Could someone explain that to me? Which calculation does Hec-Ras compute to convert mass capacity into volume capacity?

It is based on the sediment properties you specify in the Sediment properties window under “Options”.

    Thank you for your answer.
Nevertheless, I am still unable to do the conversion between volume and mass. For exemple I have a cumulated mass of 0.4463321 tons and a corresponding cumulted volume of 2.16.10^(-3) m^3. I have chosen a specific gravity of 2.65 and a shape factor of 0.6. The density of sand is 1489kg/m^3. (I only used sand in the simulation). But if I multiply the cumulated volume by a density, I don’t have the cumulated mass I would like to obtain.

I tested the 5.0 version. I didn’t have a problem. It is only with the 4.1.0 version with the SI units that the conversion is stange.

    Hi, guys!

I can’t find a way to plot mass capacity in my sediment simulation. Where can I find this option?

    Thanks

Did you check under View| Sediment Output? You may need to adjust the output level in the Sediment Output Options Window to level 6. page 17-73 of user manual.
