    Hi,

I am trying to connect a river in 1D with a 2D mesh for the floodplain. I am connecting the 1D area and the 2D area with a breakline. However, I got a usual error as I found in google that said the weir has a lower elevation than the cells to which it is connected.

What it is the best way to define the connection of a 1D area to a 2D area when the connection is the real terrain? It is almost impossible to figure out that at some cells the weir is lower than the cell because the elevation of the weir is the terrain!

Some tips to find the solution to this problem?

    thank you!

The problem and solution are similar to this thread: Problem-with-dam-simulation

Take a look at the light gray terrain profile line and dark gray head/tail water elevation lines. The head and tail water lines form steps, which line up with the 2D mesh cells. The terrain line can cut the corners of the head or tail water lines, which puts the weir elevation below the terrain elevation. Most of these cut corners can be eliminated by adding a very small height to the terrain profile elevations. Make sense? There may still be a few that need to be adjusted manually.
