I am running a breach analysis beginning with HEC-GeoRAS and finding I need to modify my Rivers and XSCutlines as I change variables (and learn). When I import the data into HEC-RAS I re-enter data for 8 Bridge/Culverts – annoyingly time consuming. Can the data be copied between projects – or – am I going about this wrong, is there a better method?
    Thanks!

You can import data from other HEC-RAS geometry files using the File|Import Geometry|HEC-RAS Format in the geometry edit. If the stationing is different between geometries you would need to update the stationing of the bridge/culvert data.

Very good – Thank you Cameron! When importing the Bridge/Culvert data, I would also bring in 63 additional cross sections with no data. I was able to review my sections and delete these new ones individually – not the cleanest method but definitely better than re-entering all my bridge/culvert data. If you know of a way to avoid / or cleanly remove these additional sections I’m interested. I appreciate your solution.

    Regards,

you could either delete all the other cross-sections in the geometry you are importing in or during import only select the bridge to import.

Thanks Cameron – I’ve tried selecting only the bridges to import and still end up with the extra cross sections. I must be doing something incorrectly, but for now I am continuing to delete the empty cross sections or just adding the bridge data – depending on what I’m changing in my model. Thank you for all your assistance!

    Hello Jim-wy,

I am just curious to know whether you found a solution avoid importing no data cross sections?

    Thank you
