I am new to HEC-RAS and need some advice on modeling a bridge. I am working in an existing HEC-RAS model which includes an existing bridge which is going to be widened. I created a very rough sketch (black lines are existing road/bridge, brown is extent of widening, orange is existing slope wall, red is proposed slope wall). As you can see in the sketch, on the east side the slope wall skews outward. I’m unsure of how to model this. Do I extend the existing bridge cross section (can I add more cross sections instead of just the upstream and downstream ends?)? Or do I need to extend the current bridge up until the slope wall turns, and then create a second bridge structure right next to the first? Or can I just add in new channel cross sections without adjusting the existing bridge to mimic the channel bottom and slope walls?

    Thanks in advance.

The most straightforward way is to model the new widened bridge as one bridge and edit the bridge internal cross section to make them fit the proposed slope under new bridge. you may need to delete the old bridge downstream bounding section (since its location is the new bridge now) and get a new one at certain feet away from new bridge downstream face.
