I’m working on a bridge removal project and am doing a comparison analysis pre to post. The bridge superstructure will be removed and substructure removed to the streambed and channel bank elevations. The roadway embankment will remain in place. I’ve modeled one scenario where I’ve utilized an in line structure to model the embankment, but I’m experiencing increases in WSE upstream from the bridge removal, which is counterintuitive based on removing the bridge. Is this the most hydraulically applicable way of modeling the removal?
thanks for any input.
