    Hello,

have a bit of a problem with my bridge modeling. everything seems to be running ok but when i bring up the general profile plot to check the velocities the main channel distance adds about 30-40m through the bridge area (ie ds of the bridge stations approx match channel distance but us of bridge theyre out by 30 odd metres).

has any one got any ideas about why this would be happening and where ive gone wrong?

    cheers

I’m having the same problem… Nothing else seems to be wrong except the “General Profile Plot” is showing an extra ~50m between the bridge sections. However, the “Profile Plot” shows the correct channel distance.

Hopefully someone can figure this out,

    Ryan

    Hey @all,

Although these posts are rather old already, I stumbled upon the excactly same issue. Using HecRas 5.0.6.
If somebody got his/her head around it by now, help would be appreciated immensely (I had the same problem in two seperate Projects, so it seems to occur regularly).

    Cheers

I’ve had this happen when importing cross-sections to geometries with interpolated cross sections, or added cross sections for bridges. Check your reach lengths and make sure they make sense. Also check the distance upstream from the bridge to cross section.

    Thanks for the reply,
i have checked every setting that I could possibly adjust in order to set the distances, including the upstream distance from the bridge to the XS. These are all as they should be, the profile plot that i can access from the geometry editor window shows these correct values as well. It only becomes apparent that there is something up, when I look at the “general profile plot”. In one of the projects i have added XS after importing most of them from ArcGis. However, in another project I encounter the same issue even though there is no interpolated XS anywhere near the Bridge.
Any suggestion how to fix this? I have tried to import the bride XS together with its up and downstream XS again, but the same issue occurs.
