Hello, I am running a river system with many tributaries and distributaries. It has 28 upstream reaches and only one downstream reach (having a tidal effect). I am currently having problems at dividing the flow by 50:50 at a bifurcation. I have tried split-flow optimization, tried increasing the interpolation near the junction, reduced junction length, making sure the slope at the two reaches are similar and so are the cross-sections. But the flow splits by 20:80. I think it is because of the backwater flow effect from the flow at the reaches upstream of the concerned channel that is causing this (I confirmed by reducing those flows and seeing the flow division). But practically, the flow in those upstream reaches can not be reduced,

Is there any other way to ensure flow split by 50:50 at the bifurcation? Am I doing something wrong??
