I want to write custom geometries for the 3D XSections layer in Geo-Ras. I would like to do this so that I can control the resolution of data points within the channel and overbank areas while keeping the 500 point limit in mind.
Can I simply re-write the geometries of the 3D Xsect layer once it is created?
Would this screw up other attributes of the 3D Xsect layer? e.g. bank points, n values..
You can rewrite the sta-elevation information once they are extracted but it yes it poses a risk of loosing bank stations and horizontal manning’s “n” values if you have them assigned. You can just use the xsec point cleaner to get the section down to the allowable limits of points if you have to.
