    Hi,

I have a RAS model created in 2008 and appears to be georeferenced. A detailed LiDAR survey has been performed since the original model was created and I would like to update the channel geometry for one reach. The model does not have lateral structures to revise.

Could you please point me in the right direction as far as work flow to update the geometry? Somehow I need to import the cross sections into ArcMap and revise the elevations outside the main channel (which is based on bathymetry), then import the revised cross sections back into ArcMap. I do not have access to any of the data used to create the original model, just the model itself.

    Thank you in advance.

Open the detailed terrain in Mapper
Create a new geometry called LiDAR and use Mapper to extract the LiDAR for each cross-section
Create a copy of the LiDAR geometry called combined and use the graphical editor to merge the channel data from the original model into the LiDAR.

    Thanks Cameron.

On further inspection, the part of the model that I am interested is actually NOT georeferenced – only a few of the cross sections somewhere else in the model. Nothing shows up in RAS mapper.

So I think I need to do the following:
Redraw the stream reach I want to edit in GeoRAS (the length of the reach should match), draw cross sections at locations of the previous manual cross sections, cut the cross sections with GeoRAS, then update the manual cross sections with the new elevations, then create new interopolated cross sections.

Is there a better way of doing this?
