    Hi all,

I’m trying to use RAS 2D to introduce flow into an area that’s cut off from the main stem by an embankment/levee. The area is a lagoon inside of a large, roughly C-shaped island with a small opening near the downstream end. The river splits into two channels that flow around this island, but I want some of the flow to go through the levee on the upstream end of the island and into the lagoon.

I’ve tried using a large box-culvert to simulate a concrete open channel (almost like an aqeduct), but it doesn’t capture much of the flow. It would be best if this could be a gated or controlled structure rather than modified terrain. The length required to breach the levee is about 500 ft. Is there a better inline structure or strategy for this?

    Thank you!
