When I model a problem in SWMM I get a continuity error as a measure of how good my SWMM run is. I am able in SWMM to get a completed run but have an unacceptable continuity error.

In RAS, it seems like any completed run is deemed acceptable (no red bars of death). Is that correct? is there any measure like continuity that I should be looking at with my un-steady state RAS runs that tells me how good the model results have been, and if so, how do I view it? And why is RAS different then SWMM in this regard?

    Thanks for any insights, Roger

Good question. The performance reporting of any unsteady flow model should include a volume accounting. RAS writes a report from the UNET solver that is available from the Unsteady Flow Analysis widow – Options – View Computation Log File. Look at the bottom of that file for the volumetric accounting info. This output is enabled by turning on the “Write detailed log output…” under the “output options” in that window.
