I have some doubts about “2D Geometry” and I would like help. I’m analyzing dam break study and The downstream area is represented with 2D areas. My doubts are:

Does it make sense to use breaklines following the river route and then use the Enforce break line in 2D Flow Area?

Does it make sense to use SA / 2D Area Concection to represent bridges in the downstream region, however connecting the same 2D Flow Area?

    Thanks

    Yes to all questions.

Breaklines i find better placed at the high/ bank points of my main reach but for the most part a stream centerline will work fine as an enforces breakline.

Structures (bridges) can be represented by SA/2D area connectors by constructing them as culverts. Issues with this is the accuracy of representation of the bridges true geometry. In this instance (if a factor) consider connecting the 2D region to a 1D reach containing a true 1D bridge structure
