    Hello,

I am working on a 1D/2D model, with 1D channel and 2D overbank areas. I noticed a high velocity spot at the edge of 2D area, then I used XS interpolation between these XS and the high velocity disappeared.

What would cause this problem? If I do not want to do XS interpolation what else can I do?

    Thanks in advance

in what case would you not want to have interpolated cross sections?

I received the 1D model from another engineer and added 2D areas based on that, so less change on 1D part would be good. Just want to know other options to solve this problem if there is.

Is the lateral structure continuous or broken along that reach? You can display them in Mapper.

It looks like the 2D inundation is the same elevation in both cases. What about on the 1D profile? Is the water surface the same in both cases?

It looks like the cross sections are not perpendicular to flow. You might want to redo them.

Sorry to bother you – how did you put in the pictures on your question?

Jennifer – When you reply, look for something like the tool bar shown below. Choose the ‘insert image’ button. A smaller window should come up. For an image you stored to your computer, select the ‘choose image’ button. Find and select the image. It won’t be loaded yet. Next select the ‘insert image’ button. A short string of code should show up in the text box, like [nabble_img src=”Capture.png” border=”0″/], but with angle brackets instead of square brackets. That’s it. The image should show up when you post the message.

Ahh. Apparently that only shows up if your are registered – easy enough to do now.
    Thanks!!
