Has anyone ever had a 1D/2D model run for a long period of time and then suddenly go unstable without any results being written to the 1D *.O## output files? The *.hdf file for the associate plan contains data just prior to it going unstable. In my case the model simply says that the 2D Solution went unstable at 27MAR2010 02:23:58 but it also says that the simulation went unstable at 11MAR2010 23:58:39 which is during the warmup period. How can a model go unstable in the warmup period and still continue to process only to go unstable again?

Aside from the sudden instability the model was running rather stable.

    Hi all,

Same problem here as well. And the funny part is that i don’t even have a warmup period now (i’ve removed it since it seems to compute without it)..

I really don’t know how it’s possible. Any clue?

I have had this too. 1D/2D connections are notorious for this. There is a problem somewhere in your model but it is hard to find with these vague errors.

Thanks for the reply. That’s what i thought, but not easy to detect indeed. I have more than 50 1D/2D connections, so it will be hard to desactivate them one by one, but i don’t think i have another option.
