2D Modeling Flat Surfaces

I am modeling a proposed pond using 2D cells. The elevation across the pond is completely flat at 622.313′. There are many cells that have all faces only touching the flat surface. The processed Elevation vs Volume parameter for each of these cells only has a single point at the pond surface elevation instead of a full curve. Is this leading to volume inaccuracies for these cells? How should this pond be modeled?
