    Hi All,

Is there an easy way to view/export cell elevations of 2D flow areas in RAS5?

The reason I ask – I would like to connect 1D channel x-sections to 2D areas in the floodplain to model overland flow escaping the channel. The minimum elevation of a weir station is the elevation of the cell it is connected to. Anything lower and the simulation will throw an error.

The only way I’ve been able to find cell elevations is by reading the number of one of cell’s property table charts. OR it’ll spit out the cell values as part of the error message when the weir is too low. There’s got to be an easy way right?

More generally, is there a better way to model lateral overland flow at 1d-2d connections?

    Thanks!

If you open the *.P01.hdf file in an HDF viewer, you can get the cell minimum elevations from Geometry|2D Flow Areas|”Project Name”| Cells Minimum Elevation.

The values will be based on an id number that can be found in the HDF file.
