2D area connection high water level

Hello,

I have some problems with culverts in 2D model. I wanted to introduce a bridge as a SA/2D Area connection with 4 openings, it runs perfect, but when I see the results it has a big increase of the water level upstream the structure. I did the same with a 1D model everything the same… I know it would be different results, but not so big difference

In the next image you can see the water level on the 2D and 1D models, and the difference between them is like 2-3 meters…

I will try to calibrate changing the weir coefficient…but is someone have another idea?

Are you using the full momentum or diffusion wave solver? I have noticed issues occasionally when using the full momentum solver where the water surface is not what I expected and does not match well with 1D solutions or simple manning’s calculations.

I am using full momentum, I run yesterday with diffusion wave and it works, the water level is lower. Thank you!
Although we never use diffusion wave ..
