Environmental Impact Statement for Bat Conservation

Evaluating Effects on Habitat for Federally Protected Bat Species

ICF Jones & Stokes (ICF) needed assistance to prepare sections of the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) Habitat Conservation Plan Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and facilitate public meetings to obtain a 30-year incidental take permit. The permit was pursuant to the Endangered Species Act Section 10(a)(1)(B) for PGC activities that could adversely affect federally protected bat species in Pennsylvania.

Kleinschmidt has prepared the administrative draft EIS for specific resource areas (described above). Kleinschmidt is also preparing to facilitate in-person public meetings and two online public meetings following the issuance of the draft EIS. Kleinschmidt will prepare a summary of all comments resulting from the meetings and provide written responses to the comments that relate to water quality, wetlands, and waters of the United States, and cultural resources.

Because of our specific experience with Pennsylvania’s resource agencies, our local presence, and extensive work throughout the state, Kleinschmidt is able to provide extensive knowledge and impact analyses for riparian, wetland, water, and cultural resources.
